Buy Him Clothes? If I Could Trust Him, He Could Do It Himself

If anything could give me a headache in a matter of seconds, shopping for mens clothing would do it. (I love my husband dearly, but getting him to buy new socks and underwear is like pulling teeth) I’m fairly confident that most men have the same mentality. They don’t see the need to throw away underwear until there’s just one strand of fabric keeping anything in.

“Why do I have to throw it away? They’re sooo comfortable!”

Sometimes it’s harder to get my husband to throw away a pair of underwear then it is to get him to eat broccoli (and if you know my husband you know that that’s a big deal). Why are men so attached to their holey underwear? I don’t get it.

Moving on to shirts. Now this is fun.

“Honey, do you need some more work shirts?”

“No babe, I’m fine. Can you pick up some cheese?” I have actually had this conversation. No lie. (I’m sure if anyone brought this up to him, he’d shake his head and say “No, this never happened.” – but it has. I promise.)

Men can’t be bothered with clothing (well most. My husband has a friend who takes longer to get ready then 3 women getting ready for their wedding). Since we’ve been together, I’ve introduced my husband to cargos, and polos and jeans. I had never seen him in a pair of jeans until I bought him a pair. I promise you, all men should own a good pair of jeans. He looked soooooo good in them. Hm.. maybe men actually have it right, maybe they should just stick to letting women pick out their clothes and let that be the end of it. Although I do have to admit, my husband bought socks and a polo for himself. He’s learning! I’m so proud.
